In the twelfth century Rumi was born Jalaludinin, which lies in the modern day Afghanistan. He is considered one of the greatest Sufi Saints ever. The Matnawi, his masterpiece, a mystical double rhyme poem with more than 25,000 verses, is of such force, that his re-citation puts people in a peculiar enthusiasm. Rumi says that man is caught in the  conditioning that he needs to break out from on his way to God. In many equations and images Rumi gives insight into the mystical experiences and also repeatedly describes exercises and games in which people can enter these states of being themselves.
